just experienced in college ball, we will head to denver and check in with graham watson of yahoo sports. thank you for joining us. let's talk the latest news from u usc. what is the latest news ed has resigned after that announcement? >> i think people are in shock. i don't think that steve sar kizian was the splashy hire everybody was expecting usc to make, 34 and 2 knife in his five years at washington. he has tried to bring washington up to elite status. he inherited a program 0 and 12. up until in year, had he hadn't won more than seven games. now you bring them in. a national powerhouse program, a traditionally powerhouse program and you expect him to turn that program around and make it elite. i am just, i think we are all kind of scratching our heads thinking, you know, why this guy? and, of course, his ties to the school. he was there for seven years. he was an offensive coordinator for two years, coached two high schoolman trophy winners there. that definitely played into this. but in terms of success, i think theme with a little, just like, umm, okay. steve sar kisian.

analysis by graham and dodd, as well as warren buffett, who the tweeter said is a disciple of that school fund. i said go read it. actually go read this book. if you read security analysis you would never by a single stock, not one, not one in this market. the whole idea of graham and dodd is to buy a stock that is cheap in absolute terms, not relative once. trust me, that made a lot more sense in 1934 when the book was published right in the middle of the great depress. you had some once in a lifetime bargains back then. warren buffett, look at his portfolio. does ibm fit the pattern? no. exxon? they're both very expensive. amazon is not growing at all which makes it incredibly rich. that doesn't mean -- i have no interest in owning ibm because it has no growth. but exxon just had a terrific quarter and right now it is the best in the group, a total irony. more on those two later. as for amazon, it's rivaled only by elon musk duo, solar city and tesla. we do see stretch valuations everywhere. a whole list of analysts brought out twitter and a bunch wanted to buy it on a reasonable valuat

saxby chambliss. lindsey graham faces a crowded field of republicans to unseat him. these are the faces of powerful republican senators who are forced to defend their seats against their own party. michael steele's an expert. he's a former chair of rnc and political analyst. michelle goldberg writes for the nation. let's be sophisticated about this. some of these states are so conservative that probably the most conservative will win no matter what. south carolina, mississippi. i'm trying to think of the other one. maybe wyoming. there's no way a republican loses the general election unless they're a witch or a nut. so basically there's no danger here. but in four of these seven races reasonably close to the states. so there is some danger there of creating a situation where whoever wins the primary is so far drawn to the right incumbent or challenger they have lost a chance of winning a state which is really safe for the rs. >> i'd agree with that, chris. i would take south carolina out of that first bucket of guaranteed conservative win come next fall if, you know, you have the wrong

bipartisan support so for example senator lindsey graham and senator john mccain have been very big supporters of a robust state department budget as well. but in the house certainly some of our colleagues on the public inside a specially broadly defined as the tea party folks, i mean they have got, it's been really difficult trying to convince them of the important national security arguments in favor of that assistance. but again this is a constant back-and-forth and if you look at the house republican budget over the ten-year period it dramatically dramatically, it would dramatically cut the category of the budget for the state department operations. so we will have to work together to try to prevent it. if you want to do the kinds of things that might rodgers wants to do and i agree with most of what he said on afghanistan, i think it was a corset big mistake at least from my perspective for the united states to disengage at the end when the soviets withdrew from afghanistan. i think we did create a vacuum that did lead to al qaeda being able to exploit that vacuums i think it's

for that. lindsey graham, john mccain, they have been big supporters of a robust state department budget. in the house, some of our colleagues on the republican side, especially -- broadly defined as the tea party folks, it has been difficult trying to convince them of the important national security arguments in favor of that form of assistance. this is a constant back-and- forth. if you look at the house republican budget over the ten- year period, it would cut the category of the budget for those kind of state department operations. we going to have to work together to try and prevent it. if you want to do the kinds of things that mike rogers wants to do and i agree with most of what he says on afghanistan, it was a big mistake for the united states to disengage at the end of the -- when the soviets withdrew from afghanistan. we created a vacuum that led to al qaeda being able to exploit that vacuum. it is important that we maintain a presence there. if we're going to maintain a presence there, we need to provide the resources necessary for our folks. >> did you have a question? >> th
